Off-White Sambhalpuri Ikat Silk Saree with Paithani Inspired Border

The traditional sambhalpuri ikat design sways beautifully on every rustle of the body. The paithani inspired gold tissue zari border and pallu in intricate floral meenakari vines are attached to the weave using the koravai technique from Kanjeevaram, to form a small Thazhampoo Reku design. Bomkai silk sarees are woven in Odisha, This weave is a result of a beautiful confluence of Ikat and embroidery. To weave this saree both fly shuttle pit looms and frame looms are used. The motifs of this weave are inspired by the local tribal art along with other inspirations such as Lord Shiva's damaru, lotus, fish, temples, and local folklores.
